Garbage is properly disposed of in a landfill. A landfill is a site for the disposal of waste materials. The garbage is sorted into two categories, one that can be reused and another that cannot be reused. There are a lot of eco-friendly ways through which organic waste can be put in beneficial ways. Red worms convert organic waste into fertilizer. The process of preparing fertilizer with the help of red worms is called vermicomposting. Another most important recyclable commodity is paper. Used newspapers, magazines, and notebooks can be recycled and we can reuse them.
Virtual tour 1: Waste disposal: At landfill
The garbage man collects the garbage in trucks and takes it to the low-lying open area, called a landfill. We will perform an experiment where we will also learn about the decomposition process. Some things in garbage rot and form manure, while some things do not rot. Plastic and polymer cannot be decomposed but it can be recycled.

Vermicomposting is the method of preparing the fertilizer with the help of red worms which takes 3 to 4 weeks. It is an eco-friendly natural fertilizer made from agricultural waste and cow dung. It helps for the better growth of the plant.

Paper is one of those materials that can be easily recycled. The recycling of paper is the process by which waste paper is converted into new paper products. Paper is inserted into a paper shredder. Then such a heap is sent into a tank to make a pulp of paper. After some chemical process is performed we get a new fresh sheet of paper.
